GENERAL ADMINISTRATION

Sant Kabir Nagar is one of the three districts of Basti Division. The Division is under the charge of Commissionary with headquarters at Basti. For the purpose of effective administration, collections of land Revenue and maintenance of Law and Order the district has been divided into three tehsil of the same name.

For the development works a Chief Development Officer along with a team of Block Development Officers are posted in 7 development blocks namely, Santha,Menhdawal, Semeriyawan,Baghauli,Khalilabad, Nath Nagar and Hainsar Bazar.

POLICE UNIT

The police administration of the district is included in the Basti range, which is under the charge of a Deputy Inspector of Police with headquarters at Basti. He controls and co-ordinates the activities of the Superintendents of Police working in his range.

At the district level the force is under the charge of a Superintendent of Police, with headquarters at Sant Kabir Nagar. He is responsible for maintenance of peace, law and order, and prevention, detection and investigations of crime besides keeping the force under him disciplined and efficient, He is assisted by one Additional superintendent and two deputy superintendents of police designated as Circle Officers, each in the charge of a police circle of the district. Sant Kabir nagar district is divided into two circles namely, Khalilabad and Dhanghata.. The following statement gives the nature of police stations and outposts in each circle:
